Dominika Chorosińska is currently one of the most characteristic figures in the new, interim government of Mateusz Morawiecki. The former actress and PiS MP became the Minister of Culture and National Heritage on Monday. Her extensive experience on the sets of Polish TV series began in 1999, when she played episodic roles in the films “The Executioner” and “Na dobre i na evil”.
Currently, recordings of the new minister’s first series roles are causing a stir on social media. In 2001, she also took part in the series “Become Miss”, where as one of the beauty contest participants, she tried to be crowned the winner.
Dominika Chorosińska played in “Become Miss”
Years ago, “Become a Miss” combined criminal, romantic and thriller plots. On the set of the series, we met many women who today can easily be called stars. The participants of the beauty contest were Małgorzata Socha, Violetta Kołakowska and Aleksandra Nieśpielak. For Anita Werner, the role in “Be Miss” was the last in her acting career. The ladies on the set also met Dominika Chorosińska – then still Figurska.
The uncomplicated plot of the film consisted mainly in showing naked girls at a time well before nightfall. We can still find comments on YouTube from teenagers of that time, for whom it was sometimes their first encounter with a female body shown at dinner time. Chorosińska, together with other aspiring actresses, fought for the crown of Miss Venus as the nice Zosia Padlewska. In the meantime, the girls were not only digging holes under themselves, but also parading around in bikinis, trying their hand at being poisoners (seriously, episode no. 6), and hitting on young men working at the facility near Zegrze.

Smaller and larger roles of Dominika Chorosińska
After “Becoming Miss”, Chorosińska’s golden years on television came. For seven years, she played the role of Ewa, who seduces married couples, in “M jak miłość”, and also starred in “First Love”, “Criminal Bureau”, “Colors of Happiness”, “Single”… She could not be missing in TVP’s flagship titles: ” Smolensk” and “Father Mateusz”.
In 2016, she also started appearing on right-wing television stations – Telewizja Republika and later TVP Info. Finally, she was noticed and appreciated as a PiS ally – on behalf of this party she got into the Masovian Voivodeship Assembly, she tried her hand at the European Parliament elections in 2019 (unsuccessfully), and finally she got to the Sejm, where she is currently serving her second term.
In the previous term of the Sejm, she submitted 39 interpellations. None of them concerned matters related to broadly understood culture. She was a member of the Culture and Media Committee, an extraordinary subcommittee to consider the government bill amending the Broadcasting Act and the Cinematography Act. She did not belong to any parliamentary group that dealt with cultural issues.
