We don’t even wear 1/3 of our clothes. These data from bonprix are food for thought

The average Polish woman spends on average PLN 340 a month on clothes. He likes the color black and has up to 80 pieces of clothing in his wardrobe. As many as 1/3 of them may remain unworn. These are the most important conclusions from the study commissioned by the bonprix brand. What else do we know about our shopping behavior, style and attitudes?

Have you ever thought that you have nothing to wear even though your wardrobe is bursting at the seams? There is a high probability that yes. This is quite a common phenomenon that affects many women. Where does it come from? Out of indecision? Too much choice? Or maybe a poorly completed wardrobe? bonprix, in cooperation with the Ipsos market research institute, conducted a survey among over 1,000 Polish women. The result is an extensive bonprix FASHION REPORT 2023, which sheds a completely new light on what we really expect from fashion. One thing is certain, for most of us it is much more than just clothes. It is a way of expressing ourselves and a reflection of our personality and feelings.

We have up to 80 clothes in our wardrobe

The bonprix report draws attention to a completely new phenomenon, i.e. individualization. Our own style, not seasonal trends, is more and more important to us. Comfort is also key. The times when we were able to spend many hours in too tight pants or uncomfortable shoes are long gone. As much as 81 percent A Pole describes his style as casual, casual, sporty, uncomplicated or minimalist. 93 percent has his favorite clothes. Most often, these are jeans, blouses, tops, T-shirts and dresses. We also have a quite strong stance on the issue of colors. As much as 61 percent The Pole prefers the color black. The most surprising thing, however, is the number of clothes we can have. The bonprix report shows that there may be up to about 80 elements. Unfortunately, everything indicates that we do not use many of them. Up to 1/3 of these clothes may remain unworn. This makes you think.

Do we like and accept ourselves?

Apart from the approach to fashion itself, the way women think about themselves and their bodies is also changing. Self-confidence, diversity and body positivity are not just buzzwords, but specific phenomena that are key to our self-esteem. This is confirmed by the results of the bonprix report. As many as 3/4 of Polish women say that they are self-confident women, and 64 percent she is satisfied with what their figure looks like. More and more often, instead of criticizing ourselves, we criticize the fashion market. 86 percent Polish women believe that unrealistic ideals of figure and beauty are promoted, and 82 percent believes that fashion trends are created only for women with a specific body shape. There are many indications that the above accusations against the industry may not be groundless. As much as 65 percent A Polish man states that he has a problem finding clothes for himself. This is bad news, because the survey shows that we like shopping and we have quite a large budget for it. For 80 percent for women, shopping is a form of entertainment. We most often buy clothes on promotions, as well as for special occasions (e.g. holidays or parties), or simply when we feel that old clothes are worn out. The average Polish woman spends on average EUR 78 a month on fashion, i.e. approximately PLN 340.
