Every year, near the end of the year, the new Michelin star restaurants, as well as those that maintain their previous stars or those that rise in category. Until now, the award-winning restaurants in Spain and Portugal were jointly announced at a gala, but by 2024, for the first time, the galas will be different. The gastronomic revolution continues in Barcelona

What are all the Michelin distinctions?

  • One Michelin star: This distinction is awarded to restaurants that, using ingredients of the highest quality, prepare dishes with different flavors and to a consistently high standard.
  • Two Michelin stars: To receive two stars, the dishes must demonstrate the personality and talent of the chef. The kitchen stands out for its refinement and inspiration.
  • Three Michelin stars: It is the highest recognition of the Michelin Guide, and is reserved for unusual cuisine. The chefs who achieve this award are at the peak of their career and elevate cooking to the category of art, proposing dishes that are sometimes destined to become classics.
  • Bib Gourmand: It is a recognition of a good quality/price ratio, highlighting simple but skillful cuisine, at an affordable price.
  • Green star: is the most recent award from the Michelin Guide. It was introduced in France in 2020 and is awarded to restaurants that present themselves as a role model when it comes to sustainable gastronomy.
