The San Sebastian Alberto Iglesias, nominated for the Golden Globes for the soundtrack of ‘Parallel Mothers’

The San Sebastian Alberto Iglesias has been nominated for the Golden Globe for the best music for the soundtrack of ‘Parallel mothers’. The 79th Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) award ceremony will be held on January 9th of 2022.

Alberto Iglesias competes for the award for the best soundtrack with Hans Zimmer for ‘Dune’, Germaine franco for ‘Encanto’, Alexandre Desplat, nominated for ‘The French Chronicle’, and with Jonny Greenwood, candidate for ‘The power of the dog’. This is the second Golden Globe nomination for the Gipuzkoan composer, who was already a candidate for the award in 2008 for the music of ‘Cometas en el cielo’.

Pedro Almodóvar’s ‘Parallel Mothers’ have also been nominated for the best film in a foreign language, and Javier Bardem, who is competing for the award for the best leading actor in a dramatic film for ‘Being the Ricardos’.

Helen Hoehne, president of the HFPA, has been in charge of giving way to the rapper and actor Snoop Dog to announce from the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles (California) the candidates for an edition that has been on the air until a few months ago.

The organization itself announced that the 2022 awards were canceled after the controversy sparked by the accusations leveled at the HFPA for the lack of diversity among its members and its unethical practices. It was not until last October when it was confirmed that there would be awards and that the gala, which still does not have any television to broadcast it in the United States after the resignation of NBC, would be held in January.
