went down in the history of Polish television as the winner of the 19th episode of the 140th edition of the program (available on ). The 28-year-old from Ćliwniki faced a pool of 40 questions, not allowing his rivals to have a say. For giving correct answers, he received 773 points, and the saved chances gave him another 30. Ultimately, he obtained 803 points, which was said to be the highest score of all time. The media quickly hailed him as a genius, and he gained nationwide recognition and fame.
“One of ten”. Artur Baranowski did not make it to the final recordings. All because of a car breakdown
For several days, the media in Poland have been celebrating Artur Baranowski’s victory. Although the outstanding participant qualified for the grand final, he was not allowed to take part in it. On the way to Lublin, where the recordings took place, his car suffered a breakdown and was unable to arrive on time. He informed production about his situation and the game ultimately went on without him. Viewers did not hide their outrage at this situation, but according to TVP, everything went in accordance with the applicable regulations. Despite this, in its official statement the station assured that Baranowski would receive an invitation to participate in the remaining game shows.
Baranowski didn’t break the record at all? Another game show contestant scored higher
As reported , there was another participant in the history of the program who scored a higher number of points. I’m talking about a doctor and economist from Leszno. Dominik Rauer took part in the program three times.
For the first time, Rauer won the final of the 76th edition, scoring 834 points. In turn, in 2018, he managed to beat this result in the finale of the 106th season, when he achieved a total of 906 points. If Artur Baranowski had made it to the recordings, he might have managed to set a new record result, but we will probably never be able to find out about it.
