In winter, we should especially pay attention to proper care. The skin is exposed to dryness, irritation and temperature changes. If you want to take care of its condition, you don’t have to spend a fortune. Make your own winter face cream at home.

Wind, frost and heat coming from radiators do not have a good effect on our skin. When you go outside straight from home, your skin experiences a kind of shock due to the sudden change in temperature. Red spots, dry crusts and even stinging wounds may quickly appear on the nose and cheeks. During this time, face cream is a total must-have.

Winter face cream. You need 5 ingredients

There are many creams available in cosmetic drugstores that are designed to moisturize the skin. They are not always effective or provide relief only for a while. A good winter face cream should be, above all, oily to properly protect the skin. My grandmother shared the basic recipe for such a cosmetic with me. I supplemented it with two products, which makes it work even better. To prepare such a cream at home you will need:

  • 30 g of shea butter,
  • 25 g of sweet almond oil,
  • 10 g coconut oil,
  • 10 g of beeswax,
  • 3 drops of orange oil.

Pour the beeswax into a bowl, add coconut oil, shea butter and sweet almond oil. Dissolve everything in a water bath and mix thoroughly using a mixer or milk frother. When the mixture cools down, add the orange oil and mix again. Finally, put everything into a jar. Homemade face cream is ready! Before you apply it on your face, do an allergy test on your hands.

What should you apply to your face in winter? Give up one type of product

The cosmetic regenerates, lubricates and prevents drying. It elasticizes and softens and soothes irritations. For it to perform its function properly, it is best to use it every day. In addition, in winter, avoid long baths and products that contain substances that dry out the skin, such as alcohol. For daily care, use products rich in glycerin, hyaluronic acid and aloe. Remember to use sunscreen. Contrary to appearances, the sun affects our skin not only in summer but also in winter.
