For many people, just capturing an animal with a camera is quite a feat. And what about catching him in such a pose that literally makes you cry? This is what the idea of the competition for the funniest animal photos is based on. This year we have a lot of reasons to be happy. Firstly, our compatriot was among the winners, and secondly, thanks to him you can really laugh.

The funniest animal photos 2023 was not an easy competition. The jurors chose between 5,300 works by photographers from 85 countries. The main prize went to Australian Jason Moore for his photo of “The Guitarist”, a gray kangaroo in an unusual pose of a rocker. Our compatriot Jacek Stankiewicz can boast of the audience award and the award for the youngest photographers. He managed to capture a bird “Square” that looks strangely familiar. In fact, it seems that Stankiewicz entered every Polish (and not only) home with this photograph.
“I saw you coming out of another nest.”
The funniest photo of animals sent by our compatriot can be interpreted in many ways. Among the comments under the Instagram post, we will find several possibilities, and we have probably already tried each of them in our own homes – whether as a child, parent or partner. “Go to your room!”, “Who is she?!”, “I saw you coming out of another nest, don’t lie!”. The author himself described his work as follows:
I managed to capture this scene while observing birds in the Białowieża Forest. The young greenfinch was fed by its parents. Every once in a while it looked like they were arguing. My friends interpret this scene in two ways. 1. A naughty child argues with his parent. 2. One child complains to his parent about his brother: look, he broke the window.
Jacek Stankiewicz deserves huge applause for his amazing shot of the bird “Spor”. And we end up giggling to ourselves and invite you to the comments section.
