Polsat is well known for producing some of its series indefinitely. However, since the broadcast of “The World according to Kiepskich” ended, there are fewer and fewer long-lived series on the schedule. One of such outliers is the series “Przyjaciółki”, which tells the story of the four title characters: Zuza, Inga, Anka and Patrycja. Each of them has to deal with love turmoil, which modern Polish women can apparently identify with.
“Przyjaciółki” has been broadcast continuously since 2012. There will be another season!
As you can see, it must be true, because “Przyjaciółki” has had a total of 22 seasons, and although the viewership is lower from season to season, it is still satisfactory for the broadcaster. Anita Sokołowska, who played the role of Zuzia, has just left the cast of the series. Her heroine died of cancer.
This made some fans of the production wonder whether there would be another series of the series. Now it is known that the 23rd season will be created. According to reports, work on the filming set is to begin this winter, and the premiere episodes will be broadcast in spring. In the upcoming season, Agnieszka Sienkiewicz-Gauer, whose character returned to the series in the 22nd season, will be much more visible.
This is a position that I envied Polsat very much all my life as the program director of a competing station – this is what Edward Miszczak said about “Przyjaciółki” in spring.
The executive producer of the series based on Beata Pasek’s idea is Akson Studio, and the production itself is one of two (along with “First Love”) that is intended for simultaneous broadcast on linear television and streaming. The remaining Polsat series are first shown on the Polsat Box Go website, and only after some time they can be broadcast on television.
