“This annual gift list kills me. No one asks if I can afford it.”

“When the holidays are approaching, I carefully consider the household budget and my husband and I often take on additional orders at work. All this to make the children feel special and receive such gifts that they really dreamed of, and nowadays it is not easy to please them, especially since at school and kindergarten there is a competition to see who will get what and whether one is better than the other. Unfortunately, we have lived to see such times us. It’s sad.”

The holidays are fast approaching, and with them comes problems related to gifts. Rich gifts under the tree at Christmas are a sight that does not surprise anyone in Polish homes. Parents buy their children gifts, which seem to be a big burden on the household budget. Some people decide to buy decent and practical things that, contrary to appearances, will serve their children much longer. Unfortunately, such gifts cost much more than those from the lower shelves. In addition, there is inflation.

Parents report that this year’s gifts for children are up to three times more expensive. In a letter to the editor of nazwa.gazeta.pl, one of the mothers admitted that in a large family, the holidays encourage many reflections, not necessarily positive ones.

“When the holidays are approaching, I shudder thinking about the household budget and my husband and I often take on additional orders at work”

I am a mother of four children. My husband and I work hard to ensure that our children lack nothing. It’s not easy for us, but we don’t want to deny them anything, and above all, I avoid letting children see poverty. When the holidays are approaching, I shudder thinking about the household budget and my husband and I often take on additional orders at work. All this to make the children feel special and get the gifts they really dreamed of, and nowadays it is not easy to please them, especially since at school and kindergarten there is a competition to see who will get what and whether one is better. from the other. Unfortunately, such times have come to us. It’s sad.

“We buy gifts earlier because prices are much higher just before the holidays”

Two months before Christmas, I ask children to write letters to Santa. Mikescold, and when I look at these cards, this annual gift list kills me. Nobody asks if I can afford it. I know I have to cope, and it’s not easy. We buy gifts earlier because the prices are much higher just before the holidays. I know that these gifts are not the most important, but I feel that children need them very much because they do not want to be worse than their peers. I hope that one day in the future they will say that they had the best parents in the world. My husband and I will do everything for them, because they are our greatest happiness. Do you, dear parents, face similar dilemmas before the holidays?

Ilona.
