W³odzimierz Musia³ is dead. The actor of “Vabank” and “Samich’s own” was 92 years old

Viewers recognize Włodzimierz Musiał from the role of Szpula from the film “Vabank”, as well as for his work on such productions as “Kogel Mogel”, “Magnat”, “Sami swoi”, “Dekalog” and “Kingsajz”. He died in Łódź on November 19.

“He made his screen debut late – at the age of 47, in Jerzy Domaradzki’s ‘The Beast’ from 1978. And then he made film after film, creating supporting and episodic roles that were always remembered by viewers” – Rafał Dajbor said in his farewell to the actor on the e- website theatre.pl. “However, I remember him most as the creator of Piotr Szulkin’s gallery of neurotic, downright terrifying characters in films and television theater: “The War of the Worlds – the Next Century” (1981), “O-bi, o-ba. The End of Civilization” (1984), “Ga-ga. Glory to the heroes” (1986), “Femina” (1990), “Meat” (1993), “Ubu the King” (2003) – these are the films; “It was a lark” (1995 ), “Career of Arturo Ui” (1997) – in turn, are performances by the Television Theater. Szulkin’s acting shone with full splendor, perfectly suited to Szulkin’s dystopian stories – he recalls.

Włodzimierz Musiał was also a theater actor with extensive achievements. He worked, among others, at the “Pinocchio” Puppet Theater in Łódź, at the Mickiewicza in Częstochowa, at the Rozmaitości Theater in Wrocław, at the Teatr Ziemi Opoleskiej in Opole or at the Powszechny Theater in Łódź. He won an award at the 17th Kalisz Theater Meetings for his role as Plack in the play “Daddy, daddy’s gone wrong”.

The Municipal Cultural Center in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski reminds that the actor played the last role in his life in this year’s film “Truth”, directed by Łukasz Karwowski, awaiting its premiere.

Musial also guest starred in TV series. It could be seen, among others, in “The Career of Nikodem Dyzma”, “Jan Serce”, “Royal Dreams” and “The 13th Precinct”.
