The Seventh Section of the Court of Seville has resolved this Tuesday through an agreement of conformity between the parties, the trial brought against the rapper José Miguel Arenas Beltrán, known as Valtònyc, for having called the audience of a concert he was holding in Marinaleda to “kill a fucking civil guard.”

As a result of said conformity agreement, the accused has recognized the facts and the Prosecutor’s Office and the private accusation carried out by the Unified Association of the Civil Guard (AUGC), which demanded four years in prison for him and fine of 3,600 euros for a crime of provocation to commit a crime of attack and three years in prison in the case of a possible crime of aggravated threats being appreciated; They have modified their accusation documents, reducing their requests to two years in prison and payment of costs, for a crime of serious threats with the aggravating circumstance of recidivism and the mitigating circumstance of repentance.

The accused has acknowledged that “it is true” that his words at that concert held on March 31, 2018 in the Sevillian town of Marinaleda were “tasteless” and “unpleasant” and has admitted that they had “annoyed”, publicly asking for “forgiveness” for such manifestations.

After recognizing such extremes and accepting a sentence of two years in prison, his defense has requested the suspension of said prison sentence given the regret shown, the years that have passed since the events and that José Miguel Arenas Beltrán “he is no longer the same person” as he was in those momentsa request for suspension to which the Prosecutor’s Office and the AUGC have not opposed.

The court has decided to decide on said request for suspension of the prison sentence during the execution phase of the sentence, stating that it will have “into consideration” the arguments put forward by the defense.
