“I am going to end my cooperation with , but I am not leaving journalism and the media. I have my plans, but it is too early to talk about them,” the journalist informed the Wirtualne Media portal when asked about his absence on the air.
Bartłomiej Graczak leaves TVP and TVP Info
Bartłomiej Graczak joined the Telewizja Polska team in 2016, previously he was involved in, among others, Telewizja Republika. He hosted the news program “Dzisiaj” and was the originator of “Magazynek Opinion”. He appeared on TVP when Jacek Kurski took over as president, and his changes introduced to Public Television became visible in news programs.
The journalist started his career at TVP with “Wiadomości”, where he worked as a reporter, then became a news presenter at TVP Info. For years, Graczak hosted journalistic programs “Miwała 20”, “Miwała 8”, and was also the host of “Your Choice” on TVP3. Since 2020, he has co-hosted the morning program “Trójka’s Political Salon”, broadcast, of course, on Polish Radio Program 3. A year later, he became the host of “Trójkowy commentary of the day” on the same station. From May 2022, Graczak also hosted Sunday editions of “Śniadań w Trójce” with the participation of experts.
Graczak became famous for his material from November 11. Nationalists threw bottles at him
Bartłomiej Graczak is also the author of one of the most popular materials from the celebration of November 11 in Warsaw. The journalist appeared at the Independence March on behalf of Telewizja Republika, and during one of the live appearances he became the target of an attack by nationalists. “Our team was pelted with bottles and curses, which seemed to be directed at the competition. We hid in the turret of the Poniatowski Bridge. You can see a sea of red and white flags,” Graczak wrote on Twitter in 2014.
The recording of Bartłomiej Graczak shouting to the crowd “come, stop it, Republika” has become a viral video. Marchers with “Fuck TVN” on their lips threw bottles and stones at him. The journalist had to interrupt the live coverage and hide from the angry crowd.
This is not the only high-profile material with Graczak’s participation. In 2018, in the program “Alarm!” a journalist’s report was broadcast, suggesting that the tenement houses in which Monika Olejnik, Edward Miszczak and Anja Rubik lived at that time were related to the suspicious reprivatization of buildings. It was reported that members of a Krakow gang took part in the operation. Five years after the material was broadcast, Monika Olejnik announced that the Court of Appeal upheld the first instance judgment and confirmed that all the suggestions were untrue. TVP had to apologize to the journalist six times on air and make donations to Caritas and the TVN Foundation.
Another time, Graczak showed off on Twitter. The journalist addressed the words to the spokeswoman of the Left, Anna Maria Żukowska: “Scrape it yourself”, emphasizing that it was only a paraphrase of her words. In turn, Spurek accused Sylwia of betrayal. After a wave of criticism, he deleted both entries.
