Ludwik Benoit was born on July 18, 1920 in Wołkowysk in today’s Belarus. He inherited his talent and passion from his father, an actor, to whom he also owed his foreign-sounding surname. He created over 100 roles on stage and on screen. The actor’s first marriage broke up due to betrayal
After the end of the war, he began training at the Iwo Galla Acting Studio. It was there that he noticed Maria Zbyszewska, who was 5 years his junior. They were united by a common passion and in 1947 they got married. They lived a modest but happy life. 3 years later, they welcomed a son, Mariusz, into the world, in whom they also instilled a love for the stage. This changed only thanks to Sylwester Chęciński, who cast her as Mania in the cult comedy. However, working on the set had a negative impact on her marriage. Benoit felt neglected and eventually found comfort in the arms of another woman. Although the actress did not want to erase their years together and decided to forgive him, he left for Jadwiga Jędrzejczak, whom he married just after the divorce. The fruit of their love was a daughter, Anna.

He liked to bet, but then he demanded a rematch – one of his friends told “Dziennik Łódzki”.
Legends have been circulating about his drinking adventures for years. Once, he was stopped by the police outside the premises.
