Employees at TVP want to earn more. How much? A round sum and a bonus. They talk about “dealing” with the increases

Polish Television is preparing for a revolution after eight years of showing the advantages of PiS rule. Employee unions at TVP are seeking a steep pay raise and increased bonuses.

TVP employees are trying to get really good pay increases. As they argue in a letter to President Mateusz Matyszkowicz, salaries have remained at the same level since 2018 and are still waiting for an update. Moreover, in 2018, changes were indeed made to the payroll system, but… in a negative way, lowering the lower salary limit from PLN 4,000 to PLN 2,000.

What demands have the unions presented now? What are they demanding? There are seven main demands, and that’s not all.

TVP employees demand raises from the president

“Increasing the basic salary by a minimum of PLN 1,000 for all employees with incentive and commission bonuses. The basic salary of employees with incentive and commission bonuses should be adjusted to a level comparable to other groups of employees employed in similar positions and performing the same work or work of equal value as today is not being implemented” – this is the first of the demands of the “Trade Union of Creative and Technical Employees TVP SA WIZJA”. They also demand the restoration of the monthly incentive bonus of 25%. for some employees, increasing the task bonus and fees, restoring the seniority allowance and indexation due to inflation.

Mention was made of wage discrepancies, manipulation of rates, reductions without giving reasons, changing the scope of responsibilities, overloading with work, increasing responsibilities without increasing salaries… Reading the letter from trade unionists to the president of TVP, one may get the impression that it is a miracle that anyone still wants to work there work in such conditions. Let us remember that we are not talking about the stars of Polish Television that we see on TV screens, but about dozens of other employees, without whom the stars would not be able to dazzle us so brightly from the screens.

The salaries of “your” employees are raised “after careful consideration” according to the principle “whoever has better access to them” will get higher raises. This disastrous custom, instead of clearly defined rules for granting raises, is unfair, incomprehensible and harmful, especially towards long-term employees – we read in a letter sent to President Matyszkowicz.

Employees ask for Christmas bonuses

This is another message recently sent by the Union to Mateusz Matyszkowicz. Employees also ask the president to grant them Christmas cash benefits.

In October, the need for an inflation increase was once again signaled, about which unions write regularly to the president several times a year. It is worth noting that last year’s Christmas bonuses requested by trade unionists were not granted to employees at that time. In the letter from 2022, you can also read that despite the letters from 2023, there were salary increases for employees earning the least by PLN 500.
