“The World According to the Kiepskich” debuted on Polsat in 1999. The following people were responsible for directing the episodes of the series: Okił Khamidov (until 2008), Patrick Yoka (from 2008 to 2018) and Adek Drabiński (2018-2022). However, the role of one of the main characters – Andrzej Grabowski as the head of the Kiepski family, Ferdek – remained unchanged.

The scriptwriters of the series remembered me from my performances at the Wrocław theater and in films. They just forgot that I look a bit different now, I’m older. And Ferdek Kiepski was to be played by a man who was a forty-year-old husband and father of a family. I was 67 years old then.

But Grzegorz Warchoł could also have become Ferdek Kiepski. The actor refused, and not because of a lack of sympathy for the production’s lazy hero.
