How to make a window defroster? This question appears already during the first frosts, when you need to grab scrapers. Winter, and with it frost and the first snowfall, is fast approaching. Instead of spending a lot of money, make a homemade car window defroster. You only need three ingredients.

Temperatures are dropping, which means that drivers have to use ice scrapers more and more often in the morning. Winter windshield washer fluid and window defroster make this task easier by cleaning the windows from both dirt and ice. They are therefore necessary for safe and comfortable driving. However, window defroster can be expensive, especially at gas stations. It’s not worth giving it up. How to make a window defroster at home? You only need 3 ingredients. Remember, however, that experimenting on your own may, but does not have to, negatively affect some elements of the car, such as paint and rubber. So be careful and check the operation of the window defroster in an inconspicuous place.

Scraping windows is tedious and tiring, no wonder drivers are looking for different ways to make this task easier and faster. Some people use extremely harmful methods, such as pouring hot water on them. This could end disastrously. Others remove only a minimal amount of ice, which in turn poses a road hazard by reducing visibility. Theoretically, water alone is enough to remove a small amount of frost, but you need to act quickly. Immediately after pouring water (remember that it should be lukewarm, never hot), turn on the wipers and apply winter windshield washer fluid. However, a car window defroster is a safer and faster method. How to make it at home?

How to make a car window defroster?

A home-made car window defroster works the same as a store-bought one. However, doing it yourself allows you to save money. How to make a window defroster? Prepare 120 ml of isopropyl alcohol or spirit, a liter of water and approx. 20-30 ml of dishwashing liquid. Make sure it does not contain additives such as balms or other similar substances that may negatively affect the glass and paint. You can add a few drops of fragrance oil to neutralize the smell of alcohol.

Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake gently to mix. Spray the window thoroughly and wait a few or a dozen or so seconds for the car window defroster to work. The ice should disappear after a while. You can also get rid of frost from your car window with the help of an unusual and… potato. Cut it in half and rub it on the glass. Finally, remember to wipe it dry with a paper towel.
