A devastating disease

Perhaps it helped me alleviate a difficult situation for a while, but people stay with it forever. I had to let it go at some point,” he said in one from interviews.
In his youth, the actor was close to homelessness. His father lost his job, resulting in the entire family living in a minibus. When their financial situation stabilized somewhat, Jim took a job as a janitor and security guard at a tire factory. Years later, he said that when he had not become an actor, he would most likely have “worked in Hamilton, Ontario, at the Dofasco steel plant.”
Tragic events
In 2015, Jim Carrey had to face the death of his partner. Cathriona White, who was a make-up artist by profession, overdosed on drugs found in the actor’s locker. After these events, White’s ex-husband, Mark Burton, filed a lawsuit against Jim, accusing him of indirectly contributing to her suicide. Later, Cathriona’s mother made similar accusations, stating that the actor infected her daughter with venereal diseases that could worsen her mental health.
Since then, the actor has appeared in just four films. Fans expected that his career was coming to an end. In 2022, Jim Carrey stated in an interview that he was going to retire: “Well, I’m retiring.
