He told a Polish fan to “f*** off”, but he would like to play Copernicus. Adam Driver fell in love with Poland?

Adam Driver was a special guest of the Camerimage film festival in Toruń. During his visit, he had the opportunity not only to promote the latest film in which he played the famous Italian Enzo Ferrari, but also to visit the city’s tourist attractions – including a museum with an exhibition about Nicolaus Copernicus.

visited Poland. As a special guest of the Camerimage film festival, he not only promoted Michael Mann’s film “Ferrari”, in which he played the main role alongside Penelope Cruz, but also received the Special Award. , despite this blunder, Poland probably charmed him to some extent. When asked about his next film plans, he replied in a disarming way.

Adam Driver would like to play Nicolaus Copernicus

, , . Adam Driver must have liked this last task so much that he now dreams of playing the role of the famous Polish astronomer. When asked after visiting the District Museum in Toruń, the actor said that he would be happy to play Nicolaus Copernicus, because he even resembles him.

This is all due to the seasonal exhibition “The Astronomer Copernicus”, which can be seen in the Old Town Hall in Toruń. Adam Driver had the opportunity to see with his own eyes the original painting by Jan Matejko “The Astronomer Copernicus, or a Conversation with God”, loaned for a short time to Toruń from the Jagiellonian University Museum. City residents and tourists who happen to be in Toruń have only two weeks to see the work before it returns to Krakow.

The chances that Adam Driver will play Copernicus are… it’s impossible to even say how great. There are no plans for a possible film or series about the famous astronomer, so the actor’s statement can unfortunately be treated only as part of a joke or a plan for an undefined future. However, if there were a director, screenwriter and producer with an idea for a film about Copernicus, Driver would actually have a good chance to play it. The actor has two Oscar nominations, and his roles, even in mediocre films, are described as “brilliantly played”. Moreover, it would mean that he would spend much more time in Poland, probably in Toruń itself. While preparing for the role of Enzo Ferrari, Driver spent a lot of time in Modena, where the automotive legend had his factory – not only because it was there that Michael Mann’s production was shot.
