A team of musicians with various string instruments enchanted the audience present yesterday Tuesday November 14thto the free concert as an artistic initiative and proposal for the community, in the parish of María Madre de La Iglesia in Los Ceibos.

There were 14 artists from Guayaquil and other countries who sang melodies in addition to the tenor. Francisco Ortega as a special guest, and for the teacher David Harutyunyan. The latter was responsible for orchestral conducting, marking his return to this activity that he has been doing for more than 25 years.

Before they started, the orchestra members said that the love of culture and the satisfaction of sharing their skills with the audience motivates them. They added that they have been invited to play in other provinces of the country and that they hope this will be possible.

The presentation started at 8 p.m., and the former vice president was also among those present. Otto Sonnenholzner Sperand the singer Pamela Corteswho has been Harutyunyan’s wife since 2011.

The conductor of Armenian origin, who became a nationalized Ecuadorian, also led the Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra of Guayaquil until May 2023.

The repertoire included pieces such as String Quartet No. 14 Death and the Maiden, one of the pillars of the chamber music repertoire. This was composed by the Austrian Franz Schubertlike Ave Mariathe work with which the recital ended.

Comfort my people by the German composer George Frideric Handel, and Chrysanthemum by the Italian Giacomo Puccini, could also be heard during the orchestra’s staging.
