In 2016, Biedronka stores were taken over by the Freshmen Gang, which everyone in Poland has probably heard of. Charming mascots in the shape of vegetables and fruits caused quite a stir, both among the youngest and their parents. To get the desired toy, you had to shop at Biedronka and collect stickers, which you received after spending a specific amount. For 30 pieces, the mascot could be purchased for half the price, and for 60 pieces at no additional cost.

The huge success of the loyalty program with mascots in the background meant that subsequent editions appeared over the following years, both continuations of the Freshmen’s Gang and new versions, such as the Słodziaków, Fajniaków, Swojaków and Bystrzaki Gang. This year, from August 28, Gang Mocniaków dominates the stores. There are as many as 11 mascots for the youngest to choose from, including: pumpkin Dorotka, croissant Radzio, egg Julek, or sausage Patrycja. Looking at the videos and photos shared on social media, it turns out that popular and adorable stuffed animals are a tasty treat not only for parents and their children, but also… for caregivers and cats.

With the launch of the new edition of the loyalty program, photos and videos began to appear on the Internet in which customers exchanged for desired mascots, which they then gave to their four-legged pets to play with. The most popular among them is definitely the Patrycja sausage. Numerous recordings and photos with animals and mascots appeared on social media.
