Several factors influence the length, density and condition of eyelashes, just like the hair on your head. One of the main factors is, of course, genes, but not everything depends on them. A healthy diet and adequate hydration also play an important role, which nourishes the hair from the inside. It is also important to avoid mechanical damage, such as rubbing or pulling, and to nourish the eyelashes from the outside. A method known and used by women for generations will be perfect for this purpose.
A cheap and home method for thicker and longer eyelashes
One way to get naturally beautiful, long and thick eyelashes is to nourish them with castor oil, olive oil or sweet almond oil. Although each of them strengthens, moisturizes, thickens and accelerates eyelash growth, the most popular is castor oil, whose properties were already known in Ancient Egypt.
It is best to apply the selected oil to the eyelashes in the evening, using a disposable eyelash brush or your finger, working from the roots to the ends – just like when painting your eyelashes with mascara. Literally 2-3 drops of oil are enough to cover the hair. If used daily, the first effects should be visible after a week.
Two simple changes that will make your eyelashes beautiful and healthy
In order for the oils applied to the eyelashes to work as best as possible, it is also worth taking care of two other issues. First of all, make-up removal – thorough but gentle. For this purpose, two-stage cleansing using an oil or butter and then a gel will work great. If you prefer micellar fluid, moisten a cotton pad with it, place it on your eyelid to dissolve the makeup, and then gently wipe it off.
The ally of beautiful hair, and therefore also eyelashes, is a healthy diet. To strengthen them, it is worth including omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin A, D and all B vitamins in your daily diet. A rich source of all these ingredients are, among others: fatty sea fish. Biotin is also important, as it not only affects the condition of hair and eyelashes, but also skin and nails. Its sources in the daily menu include, among others: tomatoes, nuts, almonds and carrots.
