Vicente Fernández, the legendary singer of Mexican rancheras, dies

The famous Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez died this Sunday at 81 years after several weeks admitted to the hospital after a fall at home, as confirmed by his family through a publication on social networks.

“Rest in peace Mr. Vicente Fernández. We regret to inform you of his death on Sunday, December 12 at 6:15 am. It was an honor and a great pride to share with everyone a great musical career and give everything for his audience. Thank you for continuing clapping, thank you for continuing to sing “, the family has communicated in a publication along with a photograph of the artist.

The interpreter arrived in early August at a private hospital in Guadalajara (Mexico) after suffering a fall that caused a blow to the neck, injuring his spinal cord and leaving him without movement of his arms and legs.

Due to this, he had to undergo emergency surgery that caused respiratory deterioration and left him connected to artificial respiration, for which he remained in intensive care for about six weeks.

In mid-September the interpreter showed improvement and remained in a common hospital room to receive physical rehabilitation, but in early December he was re-admitted to the intensive care area because his health condition deteriorated.

Fernández suffered from the syndrome Guillain Barre, a condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves and can lead to paralysis, which has nothing to do with the fall, according to statements from his family.

Before his arrival at the hospital, the singer had been admitted for a strong urinary infection that kept him in the hospital for two days. Throughout his life, Fernández overcame various diseases, such as a prostate cancer in 2002, the removal of a tumor in the liver in 2012, a year later a thrombosis that made him lose his voice and surgery to remove abdominal hernias in 2015.
