Christmas spent in the company of family and loved ones is the dream of many older people. However, not everyone can count on its fulfillment – children leave their hometowns, partners and friends leave forever, neighbors do not pay attention to seniors living next door. The Little Brothers of the Poor Association is taking care of people who will spend the next Christmas alone and is once again organizing the “Give Christmas Eve” campaign.

She will turn on the lights on the modest Christmas tree, although once again the hope inside her will fade away. As part of the campaign, the association’s volunteers organize Christmas Eve meetings for several hundred seniors. They also remember those who are unable to leave home due to health problems, providing them with Christmas gifts and conversation on Christmas evening. The Little Brothers of the Poor Association is an international organization that has been operating in Poland for over 20 years. Its volunteers support elderly, lonely people from 10 cities – Warsaw, Lublin, Poznań, Pruszków, Świdnik, Wrocław, Kraków, Łódź, Tarnów and Gniezno. The most important program of the association is called “Presence”, and its main idea is the regular presence of a volunteer in the life of seniors.
