500 plus per child. From the new year, the most popular benefit will be increased

Parental benefit, commonly known as , is the most popular financial support that can be counted on by the actual guardians of the child they raise, support and live with. It is granted regardless of income and is available until the child turns 18. To receive them, you must submit an online application to ZUS. You can do it via the PUE ZUS platform, the Emp@tia portal or electronic banking. Importantly, the money is granted only for the annual benefit period, which lasts from June 1 to May 31, so it should be done every year. It is also worth knowing that from January 1, the amount of the allowance will change and will increase from PLN 500 to PLN 800.

Family allowance is intended to cover part of the costs associated with raising and maintaining a child. It is available to parents, one of the parents, the child’s legal guardian and the actual guardian who meet the income criterion (it cannot exceed PLN 674 per person or PLN 764 in the case of a child with a disability certificate).   • PLN 95 for a child up to 5 years of age,
  • PLN 124 for a child from 5 years of age to 18 years of age,
  • PLN 135 for a child over 18 but up to 24 years of age.

Additionally, the benefit is payable until the child completes:

  • 18 years,
  • studying at school (but no later than until the age of 21),
  • 24 years of age, if they continue their education at school and have a certificate of moderate or severe disability.

After the birth of a child and meeting the conditions, parents (as well as legal and actual guardians) are entitled to a one-off benefit of PLN 1,000. Talking about . Importantly, you will receive them if:

  • your family income does not exceed PLN 1,922 net,
  • the child’s mother was under constant medical care from at least the 10th week until delivery,
  • you raise a child alone, but you receive alimony from the other parent (exceptions: when the other parent is dead, it is unknown whether the court judgment provides otherwise).
