The roles in these productions were supposed to pave the way to a great career, but ultimately they became a drag. Although they won the hearts of viewers and the recognition of critics, they were pigeonholed for many years. Today they are known as actors of one role. What’s going on with them?

For a while they were at the peak of fame, and then they unexpectedly disappeared from the screens. They could have starred in many series, but the role that was supposed to give them an unshakable position in the industry ruined their career forever. Despite their talent and unbridled ambitions, they became actors of the same role. Who are we talking about?

She was a teenager when she was hailed as a “horror star”. The patch stuck to it for several decades

When Linda Blair played the possessed Regan in the cult film, she was only 14 years old. Her demanding role was appreciated not only by viewers, but also by critics. The aspiring actress was even nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe, constantly making history in cinema, but her success did not translate into new professional offers. For the directors, she became a “horror star” and although she starred in many other productions, she was unable to repeat this success. Eventually, she started appearing in unambitious projects, for which she received the Golden Raspberry statuette for the worst actress several times. Ultimately, in the early 2000s, she partially withdrew from the film industry to focus on charity work. She founded her own foundation that saves homeless animals and now she is only occasionally persuaded to appear on screen.

Ewa Lemańska made her debut in 1972, but her real popularity came with the role of Maryna in the cult series by Jerzy Passendorfer. Not only the viewers but also her co-stars loved her. There were rumors that Marian Kociniak had completely lost his head over it. However, success turned out to be fleeting. The young actress was so associated with the character that brought her to the top that for the following years she only played episodes. She finally decided to go overseas. She settled in New York and started working as a medical assistant. She only partially gave up acting, as she still acts as an extra. Privately, fate did not spare her either. He has been through four divorces, which resulted in two sons, as well as numerous health problems. The star defeated breast cancer and a brain tumor, and is currently struggling with skin cancer.

A similar fate also befell Aleksandra Woźniak. She made her debut at the age of 17 in the play “My Orange Tree” by the Television Theater. Later she played, among others, in the film adaptation of the story “Farewell to Maria” by Tadeusz Borowski or “The Road to Paradise” by Gerwazy Reguła. However, what brought her real popularity was the series directed by Maciej Ślesicki, in which she played the role of Kasia alongside . When the production disappeared from the screens, she played in several more productions, including: in “Złotopolski” or “Plebania”, but for the viewers she was still an elderly sergeant from a sitcom. Ultimately, the actress withdrew from show business and focused on education. She graduated in German philology and psychology, and currently runs her own therapeutic office in Gdańsk. Privately, she is the mother of two adult daughters.
