They lost their husbands and moved in together. “One is worried about the other. They have created a new family”

Older ladies also suffered from loneliness. Each of them decided to take part in the experiment for widows – we read on the website. This is the first undertaking of this kind in Poland. As it turns out, the project worked perfectly in their case. Two ladies Felicja and Mrs Marysia live in an 80-square-meter apartment. The premises are owned by the city. Even though they hadn’t seen each other just before the move, they found a common language almost immediately.

The social supervisor of the apartment is Katarzyna Torfińska from the Social Welfare Center in Rybnik, who also speaks in the material. – Each of these ladies had the same problem. Low pension and relatively rising costs of housing, living expenses, medicines, food. This was the reason to ask for help, she explained.

Three seniors moved in together. “I won’t move anywhere else!”

She added that the tenants treat each other like sisters. Of course, quarrels happen – as they do in every family. But the ladies manage to quickly resolve any dispute. – They call themselves sisters. One is worried about the other. What is most valuable is that they have created a new family – added the OPS employee.

– We agree with Marysia and Fela. One helps the other, said Mrs. Felicja.

Let’s not argue. They’ll even buy something for each other. He goes to the store and asks: what do you want? I’ll bring it to you. And if you feel weaker, lie down. We live well here. I won’t move anywhere else!

– echoed the second lady Felicja. Mrs. Marysia added that the only things that happen are minor arguments. – Sometimes I put something up and they hide it from me. ‘Who was it that she hid from me?!’ And big Fela is already looking at me – she laughs. – We are satisfied, and if there is anything, we come to an agreement. And we continue to talk. We like each other. We love each other! – Mrs. Felicja summed up with a smile.
