Adam Bobik and Karol Dziuba play the roles of Kazimierz Pawlak and Władysław Kargul. While working on the set, Bobik said that even though he watched cult films many times to catch the right melody, he wanted it to be “his Pawlak”. How does it look in the short trailer?

In this part of the story of two families, we go back to the childhood and youth of the characters. The creators announce that we will learn about the events that took place before they moved to the new, post-war Poland. This chapter of the story was supposed to be written first, but the political circumstances of the years were not conducive to it. 60. – Nobody would allow the production of a film that shows the brotherly Soviet nation in a negative, slightly mocking way – says Tomasz Kubski, the film’s producer. Adds:
In fact, the trilogy without the part that we are currently producing is incomplete, poorer for the world in which Pawlak fell in love for the first time, had his heart broken for the first time, and fought for his own life for the first time.
– I want it to be a completely new, universal story about us, as we are every day, with all our advantages and disadvantages. Regardless of where we live! – says Artur Żmijewski, who this time acts as a director and not an actor.
The script was based on a family story
The author of the script for the film “Sami swoi. Popocztek” (based on the book “Everyone lives as they can”), like all other parts of the saga, is Andrzej Mularczyk. When creating it, he was inspired by real events and the history of his own family. The prototype of the character of Kazimierz Pawlak was his uncle Jan. He lived in Tymowa near Lubin – in Lower Silesia. – He had a rich life story and was a great narrator. I listened to his life stories for several weeks and wrote them down in notebooks, which I keep to this day. There was drama, melancholy and humor in these stories – recalls Andrzej Mularczyk.
In addition to Adam Bobik and Karol Dziuba, the screen will feature, among others: Paulina Gałązka, Weronika Humaj, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Katarzyna Krzanowska, Mirosław Baka, Wojtek Malajkat, Anna Dymna, Janusz Chabior and Adam Ferency. The film will hit theaters on February 16, 2024.
