There is probably no person who, as a child, did not follow with bated breath the adventures of Scoooby Doo and his four friends. In the Polish dubbed version of the fairy tale, Jacek Boñczyk provided the voice for Kudłaty, the dog’s best friend. What does the actor who plays this role look like?

is one of the most popular animated series in the world. The first series “Scooby Doo, Where Are You?” was created in 1969, quickly gaining popularity among the youngest audience. In the following years, many spin-offs and productions were created, which made a sensation all over the world, also on the big screen. Polish viewers met the dog and his crazy friends: Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne only in 1998, almost three decades after the official premiere.

Without a doubt, one of the most iconic characters of the beloved movie is Shaggy Rogers, Scooby’s master and best friend. Just like his pet, he is also a huge glutton – instead of solving puzzles, he prefers to eat more delicacies. No wonder, since he is terrified of the dark and cowards in the face of any potential threat. In the Polish version, the hero was voiced by two famous actors. In the Polskie Nagrania edition it was Maciej Damięcki, but the version with Jacek Bończyk was much more popular. Who is and what does the “Polish Shaggy” look like?

A fragment of the film “Scooby Doo and the Space Invaders” has just appeared on the Instagram profile “I hear voices”, which was enriched with a recording from the dubbing studio. The song, known to fans of the production, was performed by none other than Jacek Bończyk, the actor who played the role of Shaggy Rogers. – This is a film that I have been playing for probably 15 years. (…) It’s a very long time – in an interview published on YouTube.

In 1992, the actor graduated from the Wrocław branch of the State Theater School in Krakow. He has played many roles both on stage and on screen. He appeared, among others: in “Clinic of Lonely Hearts”, “M jak miłość”, “Criminal” and “Colors of happiness”. By far the greatest artistic achievements were achieved by the heroes of animations and cartoons, of which the series about the adventures of Scooby-Doo is the most extensive.
