The broadcast of the play “Forefathers’ Eve. In the footsteps of Adam Mickiewicz” is scheduled for today. The staging of Adam Mickiewicz’s drama will be shown live on television. Where and at what time will the theater show be broadcast?

The staging will take place this evening. The performance based on Adam Mickiewicz’s drama will be performed in three locations in the Vilnius region: in the Column Hall of the Vilnius University, on the Hill of Crosses at the Šiauliai Cemetery, and in the historic Konrad’s Cell near the Gate of Dawn. Viewers will be able to watch this unique event in front of the church next to the cemetery in Soleczniki, a town located approximately 45 km from Vilnius. It was from this place that the poet observed the Dziady ceremony taking place.

“Forefathers’ Eve. In the footsteps of Adam Mickiewicz” – where and what time can you watch the performance?

The staging consists of three fragments taken from the second and third parts of “Dziady”. A different director is responsible for preparing each of them. The performance will begin with a scene from the second part of the drama, taking place on the Hill of Crosses at the Šiauliai Cemetery. The event is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. The show will be broadcast live on TVP Wilno. The cast of “Forefathers’ Eve” includes, among others, Ewa Dałkowska and Arkadiusz Janiczka.

Previously, “Forefathers’ Eve” was staged at the Municipal Theater in Kraków, the National Theater in Warsaw, the Polish Theater in Wrocław and the New Theater in Poznań. At the end of the 1950s, “Dziady” was also broadcast by the Television Theater. The cycle of dramas by Adam Mickiewicz consists of four parts, the first of which was published only after the poet’s death and was never completed.
