Earthquake in the British “The Voice”. Two jurors said goodbye to their jobs

The British edition of “The Voice” is undergoing a revolution. Two people lost their jury positions and neither of them left the program of their own free will.

“The Voice UK” – the British version of the world’s most popular music program – is undergoing the biggest revolution since 2016. According to the British press, viewers will not see the two juror-coaches in the latest edition. Olly Murs and Anne-Marie said goodbye to their jobs.

Revolution in the British “The Voice”

The last such profound changes in the show took place in 2016. It was then that only one permanent member remained on the jury seat – will.i.am, and the remaining seats became vacant. Now it’s time to “refresh” the format, according to producers unofficially. First, former “X Factor” participant Olly Murs said goodbye to the program.

Murs has been a coach on “The Voice” since 2018. His dismissal took place quite unexpectedly and in a not particularly professional manner – he was called and informed that the latest edition of the program would take place without him.

Honestly, I was shocked. This wasn’t what I expected. And I won’t lie, like some artists, that it was my decision. I will not deceive my fans and viewers and say that “we parted as friends”, that “I have a lot of work next year, I won’t be able to be in the program anymore”. NO. Seriously, I accept their decision. They’ll probably find someone great to replace me. Will I miss you? Yes. Did I want to leave? NO. Will I still watch the show? Of course, but it will be sad for me because it could have been me there… – said Olly Murs in an interview with “The Sun”.

“The Voice UK”. The second trainer leaves

After a few days, there were also rumors about the second coach leaving the program. Singer Anne-Marie was also told that the next edition of the show would take place without her.

The informant told The Sun that the decision to remove 32-year-old Anne-Marie was dictated by the need to refresh the show and attract a younger audience. How much sense this explanation makes, it’s hard to say. The jury included 83-year-old Tom Jones and 48-year-old will.i.am. They haven’t had any more wins as coaches in recent years (will.i.am hasn’t won since 2014, Olly Murs and Anne-Marie have won three times since 2018, Tom Jones has won twice). The argument about rejuvenation while throwing out the youngest coaches is, to put it mildly, weak.
