When is Halloween? What kind of holiday is this? It’s not just trick or treat
Halloween traditionally falls on the evening and night of October 31, and is most celebrated in the United States, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain. But every year, customs and motifs are becoming more and more popular in other countries, including Poland. It cannot be denied that popular culture has a lot to do with promoting this custom. Movies, games, but also advertisers promote Halloween. The symbol of the holiday is primarily a hollowed out pumpkin serving as a lantern, and the main motifs are ghosts, demons, zombies, witches, ghosts, vampires and “scary stories”.
Dressing up in various, often elaborate and time-consuming, Halloween costumes and partying with friends is not everything. In many places, as is the American custom, kids in costumes go out to collect candy or play tricks. “Trick or treat”, pumpkins and scary stories are also the most common motifs that appear in the media, films and TV series related to Halloween.

But funny ideas are not everything. Companies compete with each other in ideas, and advertisements also include motifs known from television and films. Many of them surprise with their creativity. Examples of the most interesting ones, in his opinion, were collected a few days ago by Jakub Biel, and he published the list on his Facebook profile.
Halloween is almost here! Which company did it best?
The list he prepared included, among others: M&M’s advertisement referring to the theme of scary stories told around a campfire. Examples also include a scary cheeseburger, a “ghost chair” from IKEA and McDonald’s fries in the version of vampire fangs. Orange Oreo cookies were disguised as evil witch’s tights.
