“Camera Cafe” is a Polish comedy series based on the French format created by Bruno Solo, Yvana Le Bolloc’h and Alain Kappauf. The action of the series takes place in the office of a private company near a coffee machine. The viewer follows the action from the perspective of the machine, as if there was a hidden camera inside it. The stories presented in the series showed a distorting mirror of the friendly relationships of the company’s employees.
The sitcom about working in an office returns. New episodes will appear next year
The Polish version was produced by TVN in 2004, showing two seasons of the series. The sitcom then starred, among others: Arkadiusz Janiczek, Magdalena Kacprzak, Piotr Pręgowski, Leszek Lichota, Marcin Dorociński, Dorota Deląg, Aleksandra Nieśpielak, Iwona Wszołkówna and Tomasz Kot, for whom participation in this series was groundbreaking.
Almost 20 years ago, Studio A, managed by Jan Dworak (later president of TVP and head of KRRiT), was responsible for the production of the series. The director was responsible for, among others, creator of “Kasia and Tomek” – Jerzy Bogajewicz and Wojciech Adamczyk.
The reactivated version of the sitcom will be developed by Jake Vision DGA Studio, and its producer will be Dorota Kośmicka. She is responsible for the Polish version of the American series “The Office”, which was produced for Canal+. The series is also a form of satire on office work and the third season will soon premiere.
Work on new episodes of “Camera Cafe” is scheduled to start soon. However, the cast and director of the series have not been announced yet. The sitcom is scheduled to premiere next year on the Player streaming service. Later, the series will most likely also be broadcast on television.
