Actor Matthew Perry, known for playing Chandler Bing in the popular series ‘Friends’, has died at the age of 54, according to several American media reports. Specifically, the Los Angeles Times points out, citing police sources, that Perry was found dead in a jacuzzi at his home in Los Angeles.

The authorities went to his home around 4:00 p.m. local time (23:00 GMT) and there they found him unconscious, points out the newspaper. “There were no signs of any criminal act,” adds the newspaper, which states that the Los Angeles Police Department in charge of “robberies and homicides” is investigating the death.

For its part, Warner Bros. Television has expressed in a statement that they are “devastated” by Perry’s death: “Our hearts go out to his family, his loved ones and all his fans,” he published on Warner Bros. Television on X ( formerly Twitter).

Perry gained his popularity in the series of this group of friends, played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, which lasted ten seasons.
