However, it is known that his wife is the renowned essayist, theater writer and director, Małgorzata Dziewulska. The couple had two children, a son and a daughter, and for many years they led a quiet and seemingly happy life away from the spotlight. Everything changed in 2006, when the media circulated information about the actor with a colleague 30 years younger than him, Patrycja Soliman, whom he met on the set of the film “Jasminum” directed by Jan Jakub Solski.
It turned out that Ferenci’s lover was pregnant. Initially, Dziewulska was unable to come to terms with what had happened and saw no chance of saving the relationship. Finally, after many conversations, she decided not to throw away what she and her husband had been building over the years and gave him one more chance. Ferency suffered a massive heart attack and after clinical death lasting 10 minutes, he was taken to hospital in a serious condition. All this time, his wife was watching over his bed. It was she who, following doctors’ recommendations, persuaded him to quit smoking after almost 50 years. However, she failed to convince him to do the same with alcohol. – The holidays will come again and I’ll get drunk again. Because it’s cool. Is alcohol cool? Sure. Yet how! Why? Man always has to run away because life itself terrifies him. Think to yourself: you are not even a pinhead in this world. You are the sneeze of some metaphysics – said the actor in an interview with “Gala”. – I have a more comfortable life because I work in art. And what is art? Pretending that things are different than they are, he said.
On October 5, 2023, Adam Ferency celebrated his 72nd birthday. He is still professionally active and does not even think about retirement. He plans to play as long as his health and well-being allow. Recently, he appeared in a hit film and played one of the characters in the series “Sins of the Neighbors”. He is currently working on the set of a prequel to the cult comedy directed by Artur Żmijewski.
