As reported by Wirtualna Polska, rumors about Maszenda and the new facility appeared last Wednesday, and on Thursday, journalists managed to confirm them at the TVP Press Office. It turns out that Telewizja Polska has opened a new foreign office in Paris, and Maksymilian Maszenda is to broadcast materials about not only France, but the entire Western Europe from there. The facility is a completely new unit in the structure of Telewizja Polska.
A new facility just after the elections
The Paris branch was announced quite unexpectedly, less than two weeks after the parliamentary elections, in which the Law and Justice party, from which many of the people managing TVP today come, won the most votes, but it will probably not form a government and it will go into the hands of the opposition (Civic Coalition, Third Way and Left). Politicians such as Donald Tusk, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Włodzimierz Cazrzasty have repeatedly criticized TVP’s propaganda and announced that when they come to power, television will face serious changes.
Masenda has been criticized many times for his materials. For example, for the one broadcast the day before the election silence during the last presidential elections. Then he criticized the main candidate in “Wiadomości” – Rafał Trzaskowski, Andrzej Duda’s opponent running for re-election. The Journalists’ Society then expressed its position on this matter:
For 7 minutes, Maksymilian Maszenda formally checked whether Trzaskowski’s election program, announced the previous evening, was plagiarism. In fact, he repeated all the accusations that “Wiadomości” had so far made against this candidate.
Maksymilian Maszenda works not only at TVP
In turn, in April this year, in response to a TVN report titled “Franciszkańska 3”, Maszenda argued that “TVN, using materials from the communist secret service (…) attacked the late Polish Pope.” In the TVN program he reported that Karol Wojtyła, while still the bishop of Krakow, hid pedophilia in the Church
Maszenda started working in the daily “Życie”. During the years he spent in public media, he was a reporter for “Panorama” and TVP Info, and since 2018 he has appeared regularly in “Wiadomości”. In July this year, he also joined the group of regular hosts of “Trójka’s Political Salon” (he started appearing there occasionally in May, conducting, among other things, an interview with Prime Minister Mariusz Morawiecki). Previously, he hosted “Trójkowy commentary of the day” in Program III of the Polish Radio.
