The priest took advantage of 20 nuns and suffered no punishment. “The good of the wronged does not matter”

– Ordinary human justice does not matter. The only important thing is that Rupnik can continue to do what he likes, so that not a hair on his head falls off – commented publicist Tomasz Terlikowski on the matter.

Marko Rupnik is a Slovenian Catholic priest and artist. In recent years, he has been accused of abusing at least 20 nuns. According to his victims, the priest forced them to have sex with him and used mobbing.

In 2020, it came to light that Rupnik had absolved the novice he had taken advantage of early on. The priest was then excommunicated. However, just a month later the excommunication was lifted, and the priest, at the request of the Pope, delivered a special Friday sermon during Lent.

He is still a priest

After further cases were publicized, the priest was expelled from the Jesuit order in June 2023. However, it turns out that the crimes he committed did not end his career. Tomasz Terlikowski recently commented on the shocking case.

The Diocese of Rome, the Holy See and the Church in Slovenia decided to spit in the face of those wronged by Marko Rupnik. After the expulsion of a sexual predator who used spiritual power for sexual abuse from the Society of Jesus, he was admitted ad experimentu to the presbyterate of his home diocese in Slovenia and became a priest of the diocese in Koper – wrote the publicist.

As we learn from Terlikowski’s entry, the solution was supported by the Apostolic Nuncio in Slovenia and the vicar of the Diocese of Rome, Cardinal. Angelo DeDonatis. In their opinion, there is no problem because the priest has not been convicted before. – The good of the wronged does not matter, ordinary human justice does not matter. The only important thing is that Rupnik can continue doing what he likes, so that not a hair on his head falls off – said the publicist.

“It’s just ordinary PR”

Terlikowski also commented on the attitude of the Pope. – If nothing happens in this matter, it will have to be clearly said that Pope Francis’ declarations that he also wants to protect defenseless and dependent adults in the Church are worth little, that it is just PR, and that also for Francis ( (who unfortunately has been defending Rupnik for a long time) a sex offender, as long as he is a famous artist, is more important than his victims, he concluded.
