It’s already the end of October, so we’re checking what interesting cinema premieres have hit Poland in recent days. There will be, among others: about “Bloody Moon” by Martin Scorsese, in which – as Lily Gladstone said – an FBI agent, but in the end he played the role of Ernest Burkhart. Once again he met Robert De Niro on the set. We are also talking about the Szyc-Szyc duo from the Polish film “Mało cia nie zć”. And finally, we have something for Daria Zawiałow’s fans. Watch the new episode of “POPKultura”:
There were supposed to be scary rabbits, but something went wrong
And if you haven’t had enough of absurd horror movies yet, we have one more example for you. “Night of Lepus” from 1972 has 4.2 stars on Filmweb and 4.1 on IMDB. In turn, on Rotten Tomatoes it has a solid zero percent from 11 critics and 27 percent. from the audience and a really great description:
“Cole Hillman’s (Rory Calhoun) ranch in Arizona is hit by a plague of ‘hybrid’ rabbits. The rancher calls for help from zoologist Roy Bennett (Stuart Whitman), who immediately begins injecting the rabbits with hormones and genetically modified blood to prevent them from overbreeding. One of the rabbits undergoing the experiment escape, giving rise to a new breed of wolf-sized rabbits thirsting for blood and devouring humans, horses and cows…”
Let us add that the cast includes Janet Leigh, known from “Psycho”, as well as DeForest Kelley, known from the classic “Star Trek”, i.e. Dr. McCoy. The script is based on the novella by Russell Braddon entitled “The Year of the Angry Rabbit”.
Critics criticized this “work” for its poor script, poor direction, stiff acting, and poor special effects, but what seemed particularly inexcusable was the fact that the creators of the picture failed to make the rabbits seem scary…
