The Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences decided to make changes. From October 19, students and employees can bring their dogs or dogs to classes and to work. – We are a natural sciences university, animal welfare is very important to us. He also added that he would like the university to show that it is possible to function in friendship with the environment and promote such attitudes.
As the university authorities argue, scientific research has clearly shown that the presence of animals in the workplace can have a positive impact on both the well-being and productivity of employees. How? Pets reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and prevent burnout.
Take your pet to work and to classes. What conditions must be met?
Students and employees who want to bring their pet to the university must first obtain the consent of the head of the unit or the lecturer. In addition, they should make sure that the presence of a cat or dog will not violate occupational health and safety rules in any way. they must be vaccinated and fully healthy, and on a leash. They cannot disturb the conduct of classes or stay in rooms where laboratory work is carried out or chemical substances are stored. The guardians bear all responsibility for them and are obliged to remove any impurities they may cause.

It is worth remembering that, apart from your own peace of mind, you should first of all take care of the animal’s comfort. Not everyone will feel comfortable in a building full of other people, where it is noisy and crowded. Both cats and dogs should be properly prepared for such “trips”, and if the animal does not feel at home at the university, it is better to refrain from taking it after lectures or to work.
