Horror is taking over the cinema halls House of Ecuadorian culture with the International Horror Film Festival, which takes viewers on a journey through terror, the macabre and the bizarre.
“This year we pay tribute to the horror films made in our country, Ecuador”mentions a statement from the festival, referring to the participation of filmmakers as Josué Miranda, Diego Bastidas Zea, Diego Ortuño, Andrey Giperborey, Jaime Rosero, Javier Jácome, among other things.
The selection of Ecuadorian horror films will be shown in Guayaquil, Quito, Portoviejo and Cuenca between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

This festival takes place in various cities in the country until October 31, andn the cimetaceas located in the centers of Guayas, Pichincha, Manabí and Azuay. As well as at the Humboldt Association cinema in Quito,
The films will also be shown in alternative theaters such as Counter surface, from Casa Grande University, Cinema club from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, Mythomaniac house And Orange cat cinema, in Quito.
The screenings in Guayaquil will take place in a room on the fifth floor of the Núcleo del Guayas House of Culture (Av. 9 de Octubre 1200 and Pedro Moncayo). Free entrance

Conversations
This screening meeting will go hand in hand with the development of conversations with some professionals in the audiovisual field and film psychology. These lectures (as well as the short films) will be broadcast online at kick.com/carontehoff.
For example, an online lecture on the ‘Evolution of horror in cinema’ will be broadcast next Tuesday, October 24 at 10 p.m. Wednesday at 10 p.m. the lecture will be on ‘Mindfuck, reality and illusion’, on Thursday the planned theme is ‘Professional journey with Nandy Carrera’, on Friday Jorge Bastidas will give a lecture on his professional journey through terror, while on Monday the topic is ‘ Posterism in the cinema’.

short film competition
A short film competition will take place at the festival Mexico, Spain, Austria, France, Turkey, Portugal, Colombia and other countries.
The winner will receive the Charon Coin for the best work and a 30% scholarship for the Master of Digital Audiovisual Postproduction at the Faculty of Art, Design and Social Communication of ESPOL.
The winner is chosen by a jury consisting of Juan Ordoñez, Raúl Carchi-Verónica Varela, Nandy Cabrera, Jorge Bastidas and Jairo Guerrero.
