Angelo Bruschini has been a guitarist in the band Massive Attack since 1995, playing with the group on concert tours. In July, however, he delivered disturbing news – he had to suspend his career because he was struggling with a terminal illness. He planned to write a book about his life, but he did not manage to do it before his death.
Angelo Bruschini from Massive Attack has died
Bruschini died at the age of 62. However, for some time he had been struggling with the diagnosis of aggressive lung cancer. When he informed about his illness in July 2023, he was aware that he did not have much time left.
Specialists told me “good luck” twice during lung cancer treatment. I think I’m screwed. I had a great life, I saw the world around me, I met many wonderful people, but the doors are slowly closing. I think I’ll write another book. Type [nowotworu – przyp.red.]The disease I have progresses rapidly, and my type is rare and aggressive… I had a beautiful life and I hope you will have one too, he wrote on social media.
He also mentioned that his lung cancer was inoperable and he was facing chemotherapy. Unfortunately, on Monday evening his wife announced the guitarist’s death.
Massive Attack says goodbye to a friend
Massive Attack musicians said goodbye to Angelo Bruschini in social media posts. Although Bruschini was not part of the permanent lineup composing songs, he was present on every Massive Attack tour since 1995.
A unique, brilliant and eccentric talent. Your influence on Massive Attack’s work cannot be measured. We are lucky to have shared our lives with you – wrote the band’s musicians.
