The trial in the case of actor and former activist of Law and Justice Bartłomiej M. has been ongoing since November 2022. At the beginning of October, Radio ZET journalists confirmed that the proceedings would start again due to the change of the adjudicating panel.

Like , the reason for the decision was supposedly a letter sent to the court at the end of August by a lay judge who sat on the adjudicating panel. The woman asked to be excused from attending hearings for a period of approximately two months. The reason for this request was said to be health problems.
Bartłomiej M. is accused of committing nine rapes, including four on a person under 15 years of age. The actor was charged with 14 allegations of sexual abuse. According to the Penal Code, rape and forced sexual activity are punishable by imprisonment from 2 to 15 years. The situation is similar in the case of sexual abuse of a minor.
The first hearing of the new trial took place on October 10. As Radosław Gruca from Radiozet.pl and Mariusz Gierszewski from Radio ZET found out unofficially, further complications appeared in the trial of Bartłomiej M.. This time regarding recordings that were supposed to be evidence in the case. Two DVDs with recordings of the victims’ testimonies did not work properly, which was confirmed by Mirosława Chyr, spokeswoman for the District Court in Warsaw.
“In relation to one of the DVDs with the recording of the witness’s interrogation, technical problems were revealed in the playback of the entire multimedia files. The quality of the recording of the witness’s interrogation on two DVDs makes it difficult to understand the statements of the participants in the activity,” the spokeswoman told Radio ZET journalists.
The representative of one of Bartłomiej M.’s alleged victims emphasizes that this is not the first “strange event” in the trial. “Their common denominator is that they can improve Bartłomiej M’s difficult procedural situation.” – says lawyer Marta Lech and emphasizes that she does not understand why the accused is still at large. “I know that he met his victims on the street, and such encounters traumatize them,” he adds.
Prosecutor’s office: He drugged teenagers and forced them to have sexual intercourse
Radio ZET journalists found out what can be seen on the materials secured by the actor. According to the editors, as part of the investigation, recordings of rapes, pedophile materials and photos from sessions with drugged girls were found. The Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that Bartłomiej M. lured teenagers by promising them to participate in photo sessions. “After giving them alcohol or a narcotic drug, he made them engage in sexual intercourse or other sexual activities,” the prosecutor’s office is quoted as saying by the editorial office.
In 2011 and 2015, Bartłomiej M. ran from the PiS list in the elections to the Sejm. Previously, he was associated with the Civic Platform. In 2018, the accused was a presenter of the English-language TVP channel. He was also an actor. He played episodic roles in series such as “Klan”, “Kasia i Tomek”, “Samo Życie”, “Na Wspólnej”, “First Love”, “Plebania”, “Barwy fortunate” and “Na do better i na evil”. He also appeared on the big screen. He played in the films: “Mafia Women”, “How I Became a Gangster. A True Story”, “1920 Battle of Warsaw” and “Popiełuszko. Freedom is in Us”.
