Wojciech Korda is dead. The leader of the Blue and Blacks had been seriously ill for several years. He was 79 years old.

His wife Aldona announced the death of the famous musician. She was the one who took care of the sick artist in recent years. “Today at 1:40 p.m. after a very long and serious illness, my beloved husband passed away,” wrote the Blue and Black leader’s partner on social media.

Wojciech Korda also said goodbye to his daughter – Anna Rusowicz. The artist’s first wife was Ada Rusowicz, with whom the musician had two children. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the family. In 1991, there was an accident in which Korda’s wife died. The artist was left alone with the children, he decided to take care of BartÅ‚omiej and leave Anna to the care of her aunt and uncle. Rusowicz could not forgive him for this decision for a long time. However, on the day of her death, she wrote on Instagram: “I forgive You I release You I let You go”.

The singer suffered several strokes before his death and was completely bedridden for years. His vital functions were supported by specialized equipment. He suffered from post-stroke Parkinson’s disease, i.e. stiffness of the limbs that prevented him from moving. Due to a tracheostomy, he breathed only through a respirator, was fed enterally and had diabetes.

From the beginning of his illness, Korda remained under the care of the Polish Music Foundation, which also said goodbye to the artist. The organization has been raising money for years to help Korda’s wife support the patient.

Wojciech Korda was a Polish rock artist, vocalist, guitarist and composer. From January 1964, he played in the Niebiesko-Czarni band. He remained in the lineup until the group was dissolved. Then he played in a duet with his wife, Ada Rusowicz, in the band Ada-Korda and Horda. In the 1980s and 1990s he gave concerts in the USA and Scandinavian countries.
