Teleszyñski fell in love with Szczurowska at first sight, she was with another man at the time.

Nature gave him not only talent but also exceptional beauty, which made women who passed him on the street sigh. He never applied for a role in a film, but when he got one, he was ready to sacrifice a lot to prepare for it. Leszek Teleszyñski went down in the history of Polish cinema as an outstanding actor, but he was also labeled a scandalist, looking for love in the arms of a married woman.

was born on May 21, 1947. He graduated from the State Theater School and later made his debut in the play “King John according to Shakespeare”. He gained popularity thanks to his roles in film hits of the 1970s, including “The Deluge”. He gained recognition mainly among women who, seeing him on the street, sighed and whispered compliments to each other. Regardless of whether he played the role of a good or evil hero, the female audience always praised him for his performances.

Leszek Teleszyński had to work hard to become famous

After the cinema premiere of “Tędrowata” he was still being approached on the street. Henryk Talar, Leszek’s friend, recalled walking together on the city promenade. Women passing them reportedly said, “Look, what a guy. Perfect. Wonderful.”

At the end of the 1990s, Leszek Teleszyński received a role in “Złotopolski”. He played in the series for the next 13 years, until the producers decided to take it off the air. Then there was a downtime in the career of the handsome movie star. Although the actor appeared as a guest in “Barwy szê¶cia” and “Wyklęty”, but these were not productions that could be expected from a star of such stature.

When journalists asked him why he appeared on screen so rarely, he replied: Apparently there wasn’t always a demand for an actor like me. I don’t fight for roles, I don’t fight for myself.

And although he may not have actually fought for the role, when he got one, he was willing to sacrifice a lot to prepare for it. Leszek Teleszyński usually met demanding directors. We are talking about, among others, Andrzej Żuławski, with whom he starred as a young actor in “The Third Part of the Night”. Teleszyński was to play the role of a lice feeder, so Żuławski decided that he should improve his skills in this field. “My hero was supposed to feed lice, so he thought I should know what it looked like. I went to the institute in Gdynia. I got several thousand lice on my leg… I was sitting and they were feeding on me,” Teleszyński told “Rzeczpospolita”.

A year later, he began work on “The Devil”, and his wife encouraged him to hire Teleszyński again. The actor received another and much more difficult task. “I went to the psychiatric hospital in Tworki and let myself be locked in a room with schizophrenics in a room without door handles,” Teleszyński reported.

He was looking for “the one” for a long time

Leszek Teleszyński also didn’t have it easy in love. First, he got involved with Alicja Jachiewicz, whom he asked to marry. Although nothing indicated it, one day the actor simply abandoned his beloved. Later, Irena Szczurowska caught his eye. Teleszyński hid his affair with an actress six years older than him because she was still married at the time. Bah! When her husband found out about her relationship with the actor, he decided to fight for his marriage. However, Irena did not want to continue her relationship with the famous writer, and he eventually got tired of fruitless requests and begging.

Teleszyński and Szczurowska got married, but their marriage also did not last long. They divorced after the birth of their first child. Following the “three times a charm” rule, the actor finally found love with Jolanta, who became his second wife and is with him to this day.
