From school to television and now to the Sejm. “He won against party concrete”

Marcin Józefaciuk is the host of the TVN program “Teens rule… money”, which premiered in spring this year. Moreover, he is a teacher, a school vice-principal, but also an ultramarathon runner and a social activist. Now he has also been elected as an MP from the Civic Coalition. Starting from the Łódź constituency, he managed to defeat politicians with much more experience.

Marcin Józefaciuk may be well known to many residents of Łódź, but the whole of Poland had the opportunity to meet him in the spring, when he appeared on TV screens as the host of the program “Teenagers govern… money” on TVN. Now Józefaciuk is starting his political career, because he won a parliamentary seat on behalf of the Civic Coalition. Experts believe that the teacher achieved electoral success because he gained the trust of the young generation by offering them a new style of politics.

He taught nine subjects and hosted a program on TVN. Now he will enter the Sejm

He managed to obtain almost nine thousand votes, defeating Iwona Śledzińska-Katarsińska, an MP with 32 years of experience, for whom approximately 6,000 votes were cast in his district. elections, or Andrzej Domański, who may be one of the candidates for Minister of Finance in the planned government of Donald Tusk.

Marcin Józefiaciuk is an English teacher, but during his work at school he taught as many as nine subjects when the institution where he works lacked teachers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the teacher spoke about the restrictions that prevented learning vocational subjects. Józefaciuk also protested against the introduction of the HiT textbook to schools.

Ph.D. Monika Kaczmarek Śliwińska, an expert, advisor and trainer in the area of image building from the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Bibliology of the University of Warsaw, in an interview with the portal, indicated that Józefiaciuk, thanks to his activities for changes in the education system, has become “one of the faces of Polish schools” .

He spoke openly about problems and criticized the system, and this is part of the lives of many voters. Marcin Józefaciuk is not the only person who got into parliament despite a not very financially intensive campaign, lack of political experience and a low position on the electoral list. I assume that voters focused on the freshness effect, said Dr. Kaczmarek-Śliwińska.

Not only young people, but also journalists and experts are impressed by Józefiaciuk’s enthusiasm

Gazeta.pl journalist Karolina Hytrek-Prosiecka also wrote on the X website (formerly “Twitter”) that Józefiaciuk would be a good candidate for the role of Minister of Education. “I would like such a guy to become the Minister of Education and be given the freedom to create education. Open, offensive, non-exclusive education, teaching thinking, independence and tolerance. Mr. Marcin Józefaciuk from the Civic Coalition list. This would be the new quality,” we read.

Bartosz Czupryk also commented on Józefiaciuk’s success. In an interview with Wirtualne Media, the expert in image and political marketing pointed out that the future KO MP “broke the pattern of a typical teacher”, thanks to which he “won against party concrete”.

– Marcin Józefiaciuk has become an idol of the young generation. His style, passion, open mind and approach to young people made him capture the hearts of not only his students, but also their families and people around him. Modern and charismatic, with a broad worldview, he fit perfectly into the needs of the young generation, which today finds it difficult to define their identity, and Józefaciuk’s attitude and activity helped the youth, and probably not only them, in interpreting their own personality and identity – said Bartosz Czupryk
