The hot pre-election period brought many new viewers to television broadcasters. The biggest fight for the leadership position took place between TVP and TVN news programs. Who managed to win the most during this time?

The last week before the parliamentary elections is always one of the best-watched periods for television stations. An item that achieved very good viewing results is the election debate broadcast by TVP1 on Monday, October 9.

According to Nielsen Audience Measurement data provided by the website, the program was watched by an average of 3.8 million viewers, and including the audience for the debate from TVP Info, TVP Polonia and TV Republika channels – 5.61 million.

Thanks to the debate, TVP’s “Wiadomości” also benefited, which was broadcast immediately after it on the pre-election Monday. They were watched by an average of 2.56 million viewers. The same number of viewers also watched “Fakty” TVN, but on the day of the parliamentary elections, i.e. on Sunday, October 15.

However, television viewers at that time did not live solely on politics. The Faroe Islands-Poland football match also aroused great interest and was watched by 2.93 million viewers on TVP1 on Thursday evening, October 12.

The TVP2 channel also boasts high viewership, where the soap opera “M jak miłość” is shown. On Tuesday evening, the series attracted 2.69 million viewers. However, one step lower was the new TV series “Dewajtis”, which was watched by 2.58 million people on Sunday evening. All this means that at that time TVP1 was the most watched channel.

TVN24 wiped out TVP Info in the viewership results

Also noteworthy is the promotion of the TVN24 station, which in the pre-election period was offered in the lowest packages by many cable and satellite operators. Halfway through the election campaign, the channel managed to jump from sixth place to second place in the viewership rankings. TVN24 recorded 8.44 percent. market share (increase by 1.53%). The election evening “Decision Time”, during which the exit poll results were presented, was watched by an average of 1.53 million viewers.

The podium in the list of the most watched stations is closed by the TVP2 channel with a share of 8.40%. TVP Info was far behind, taking only sixth place among the most watched stations during the election week, with a result of 6.73%. share in the television market.
