“Showbiz taught me not to trust all people,” says Aura Arce, panelist of the program ‘Los hackers de la showbiz’.

She wanted to be a commercial engineer, but being in an office was not her ideal life. Since childhood, she stood out in her environment by talking, public speaking and expressing herself. She trained as a social communicator and was already appearing on television before graduating.

He has been on the screen for thirteen years, in different programs and platforms, and his entry as a panelist on the program Showbiz hackers This is no coincidence, says a journalist from Guayaquil Aura Arce, who left the informality of hosting a few days ago to make his official debut on the Canal del Cerro screen as one of his talents.

You say you competed with other famous faces on screen and social media, don’t you feel famous?

I don’t use the word famous for anyone I know here in the country, for me we are famous internally. Beyoncé and Rihanna are famous, but I consider myself a famous person in my country. I’m already quite a few years old, thirteen more or less, I work little by little and I’ve earned my space, I think if you listen to Aura Arce you already know who she is, I don’t think I’m famous or well known. I am a very modest woman, who worked in silence, very objective and very professional.

There is a reason why you go to university and fulfill and respect the ethics part that you learned and put into practice, that’s why I consider myself different from many people who think that being in show business means arguing with everyone, being visceral, being controversial, being rude on many occasions in order to be able to do the program, I have my pluses.

This is something I’ve been waiting for, I’ve always felt part of the project because I’ve been in the minds of the Ecuavisa people from the beginning. I was just waiting for this to become official, I had a lot of support from people on social media even though I was competing with other talents who have a lot of followers and popularity on television is very taxing.

Most entertainment panelists become the center of the news they present, and in the case of digital platforms, all the situations mentioned happen…

Exactly and that’s why they always end up staying there (on digital platforms) because you can’t use ugly and grotesque words on television, you have to find a way to be strong and carry the same message. That’s the difference between people who make television and people who make entertainment sites, that there are a lot of improvised people and sometimes they are cruel to the characters in their personal capacity. In my case it never happens. I sit down and talk about a topic, whether I like it or not, I state my point of view, I go home and sleep without this problem under my pillow.

There are detractors on social media who claim that his entry is due to his friendship with Santiago Castro, another panelist of the program.

We, the first time we met he was in RTS, he was inside Morning club me inside too Let’s go with everything. That was the first time we were on the same channel. Then, during the pandemic, reinventing ourselves, we started thinking about doing something new and it came up Warm TV. We were partners on this channel that he already had for many years, which was just social media content. I continued inside GolTV and did not return to television.

People using that resource (saying I’m in the program because of it) to disparage my ability and years of experience is disrespectful. I don’t think any company hires someone just because you’re a friend, it always has to be a person who adds to the program. I never take such comments as something important, because I consider myself a professional, talented woman, I consider myself a woman with an angel, direct, frontal and personal and I don’t need anyone to perform my duties as such. Those who need to harm other people to try to gain visibility are the ones making such comments. Look at them where they are, they are not growing. I always tell them, even if it hurts them. I graduated from the university of social communication and I am qualified for any function.

Showbiz panelists are now the protagonists of the news, have the interlocutors exhausted themselves?

Showbiz has evolved a lot, I am from the class that started Let’s go with everything. Then you did an interview and you didn’t engage, the presenters commented on the topic. Later, journalists started to stand out more, if you see the positive side, little by little it gave them a bigger presence and gave them a place to be presenters and not just stay in that role. This evolution means that there are more characters and that debate enters, and that’s why showbiz is coming back violently, because before it was the same people and the same characters. It’s not my thing, I don’t solve it that way, but there are those who solve it that way and I respect that.

You are a showbiz presenter and reporter, but also a sports presenter. When did you decide to become a journalist?

I studied commercial engineering for twelve months and I said to myself: no, that’s not my thing, I don’t want to be in an office, I like to talk and I’ve always liked to express myself. I had a daughter, and the break I took for a year and a half helped me reinvent myself and I started studying at Facs, and before finishing I started participating in reality We are looking for the next reporter from Let’s go with everything. Before that, I worked in a socio-economic and political magazine.

I didn’t know anything about showbiz, I didn’t even know who Sharon was, but as I’ve always been a studious woman, I started writing down the names and pseudonyms of showbiz characters in a notebook. I came fourth in reality and from there I started on television.

For channeling GolTV I entered after the director saw me on the screen RTS. The president of the channel and the directors told me that they liked my style and suggested that I accept this challenge. They dumped me. The first program I attended was Football show and also as a reporter in News about goals. The economic proposal was very good, but it also took my time because at the same time I was in Morning club.

I’m inside right now Gol news, Since three years ago. I am a reporter there, I report on the domestic professional league and teams on the coast. To me it’s like a hobby, I learned a lot, and I don’t share it much on my networks because I consider it to be part of my most serious profession, because it is an international network. It helps that I’ve filled different roles throughout my career that have given me a more objective position when reporting.

The public knows the communicator that appears on the screen, but what is Aura really like?

I am a native of Guayaquil, born and raised in the Cristo del Consuelo neighborhood (south of the city). My parents are still in the sector, I always share with my mother, who is the one who takes care of my daughter Madeleyn Pérez, 16 years old. I always try to maintain a clean image because I want to be an example of inspiration for her, of those who persistently achieve. That’s the legacy I leave him.

I am a very nice woman and loyal to my friends, that’s why I managed to make real friends in this environment, which they say is hard to find. Santiago Castro is one of them, Jorge Heredia, Yuribeth Cornejo, Íngrid Hansen Vik, Gabriela Guzmán, Denisse Angulo, Maikol Ochoa. These are people I love, appreciate and respect very much. Fun is never a part of my life.

When I was little, we always spent time at home, only on weekends they let us go outside to play hopscotch with the neighbors. When I started school I started to have friends, but I didn’t go out much, only now as an adult I started traveling around the south and getting to know hollows. But part of my customs is always to go to the Cristo del Consuelo procession.

My family memories were watching TV or a VHS movie. There are ten of us brothers and sisters, I am the penultimate one. My younger brother is my worship, I am the last woman.

And if you weren’t a communication specialist, what other profession would you specialize in?

Maybe I think I’d like to act, and that’s something I’m waiting for. I would like to be who I am. I like to set goals and do everything while studying, I would like to go study and do it well, because being improvised, no.

Do you want to be the protagonist of a soap opera?

That’s right, that’s why I want to be professional so that I don’t fall in love with the kisses in the scenes. I want that with everything, that’s why you have to study.

What would you change in your present?

I believe that we should not change anything that we have experienced because good or bad what happens to us makes us the person we are and we should always feel proud of who we are. But I see myself studying and working abroad in five years. I see myself preparing for acting, I see my daughter in college, I support her in her dreams and I want to participate in everything she wants. That’s my big dream. I want to continue writing moments for me and my daughter.

Do you see yourself abroad as a journalist, as other presenters like Alejandra Jaramillo did at one time?

Characters such as Jessenia Hatti, Andrea León, Fiorella Solines, Ángel Villagómez are characters who motivate us to achieve what we have achieved in the country, also abroad. When I feel that I have completed my cycle in the country, it will be my turn to leave. I’m a big dreamer and I don’t like to stay in one place.

I would love to go to Argentina, the United States or Europe, to the strangest countries to be an exotic Ecuadorian.

After so much time in show business, what have you learned?

Showbiz taught me not to trust all people, there are many evil people, there are many fake people, there are many hypocritical people. Just like I found friends and I have many fingers on my hand, there are many people who want to hurt you. This is the reality of entertainment in our country. (AND)
