Electricity prices are the highest in 30 years. Soon we will pay PLN 1 per kWh
According to the portal “”, despite the freezing of electricity prices, the average cost of electricity increased by almost 30%. In the first half of 2022, the average electricity price was PLN 73.9/kWh gross. A year later, in the first half of 2023, we pay an average of PLN 95.7 per 1kWh. This is the highest energy price increase in 30 years. Of course, it is impossible to completely give up the use of electrical devices, but if the bills give us goosebumps, it is worth paying attention to how much energy each device consumes.

Which device uses the most electricity? PGNiG provided the list
provided a list of devices that consume the most electricity. It shows that an induction cooker consumes the most electricity – the average annual energy consumption is approximately 749 kWh, which translates into an annual cost of over PLN 700. In second place was the oven, which consumes 1.36 kWh per day – approximately PLN 470 per year. It took third place with an annual consumption of 270 kWh – almost PLN 260. But that’s not all. Here are other devices that consume the most energy:
- electric kettle – annual cost about PLN 230,
- dishwasher – annual cost about PLN 225,
- desktop computer – annual cost approximately PLN 190,
- vacuum cleaner – annual cost about PLN 150,
- washing machine – annual cost approximately PLN 135.
