Ignacy Liss is 25 years old and last year he graduated from acting at the Theater Academy in Warsaw. He has quite considerable musical abilities – he plays the clarinet, drums, piano. Before he got the role of Leszek Czyński (who was played by Tomasz Stockinger in “The Quack” from 1982), he made his debut in the theater with the role of Lior in the play “Oh My God!” on the stage of Polonia Warsaw.
Ignacy Liss has a famous uncle
When it comes to appearances in front of the screen, while still a student he played small roles, e.g. in the series “War Girls” or “The Better Half”. Last year he was nominated for the Award. Jan Machulski for “Followers. Odpalaj lajwa”. His filmography also includes such productions as the series “Osiecka”, “People and Gods”, and recently “Teciowie” and films such as “Fanfik”, “Zieja” and “Marzec ’68”.
In an interview with Łukasz Muszyński from Filmweb, Ignacy Liss talked a little about his childhood. – My uncle is an actor and he had a huge wardrobe with movie titles. It was still the era of DVDs, the actor recalls. He says that they sat for hours with his cousins and his brothers and watched new titles, and after some time they also started recording amateur films. At one point Liss says: – My uncle is Zbyszek Zamachowski.
He starred in “The Quack” now, three years ago in one film with his uncle
A fragment of the video interview is titled “Whose nephew is Ignacy Liss?”, but the word “nephew” would probably be more appropriate. Zbigniew Zamachowski, to my knowledge, has a sister three years older than him, not a brother. Such a relationship would also be indicated by the different surnames that both actors have. Let us add that speaking of cousins, Zamachowski has four children from his marriage to Aleksandra Justa: Maria (born 1994), Antoni (born 1997), Tadeusz (born 1999) and Bronisława (born 2001).
Liss and Zamachowski already starred in the same film in 2020. “Zieja” by Robert Gliński tells the story of the life and activities of the legendary Warsaw priest, Jan Zieja. Zamachowski played one of the main roles (the title role went to Andrzej Seweryn). He played the role of Adam Grosicki, a security service officer who surveilled him. Liss, on the other hand, is listed in the cast as Krzysiek.
