The Boomer Word of the Year was chosen for the first time in 2022. At that time, the research agency SW Research was responsible for organizing the event. This time, this task was undertaken by Piotr Iskra from the Iskra Wiedzy portal.

In the final stage of the competition, Internet users chose from 21 words and phrases. This is how we created a list of the most boomer words of 2023. The organizer received thousands of responses, of which the largest number of votes was received for the phrase “I am asking you” (14.44%). Also at the top were “guy” (10.9%) and “back in my day” (9.16%). The next places were taken by the words “klawo” (7.40%), “wihajster” (6.74%), “pannica” (6.39%) and “servus” (4.68%).
Boomer Word of the Year Sparks of Knowledge
Internet users also received another task. They had to provide an alternative to the word “boomer”, which many people consider to be outdated. Users indicated the following options: dziaderskie, calciumckie, dziadowe, lamerskie and klawe.
Although many people may associate the Boomer Word of the Year plebiscite with another famous competition for , these two events actually have nothing in common. Last year, the Youth Word of the Year was “essa”.
