Dua Lipa breaks with the past. In a surprising way, she started promoting the new album

All signs in the sky indicate that one of the biggest pop stars will soon return with new music. And not just any kind! Dua Lipa announces the arrival of a new era in her career and definitely distances herself from the disco sounds from “Future Nostalgia”. What do we know about the upcoming album?

Six years have passed since the release of Dua Lipa’s debut album, and during that time the artist’s career has developed at a dizzying pace. She achieved her greatest success thanks to the great popularity of the album “Future Nostalgia”, which clearly includes references to the disco era of the 1980s. It turned out to be a bull’s-eye, as each single from this album immediately became a huge hit.

Dua Lipa is preparing a revolution. He decisively distances himself from his past and announces new ones

Although three years have passed since the release of this album, the artist has released several singles in the meantime. One of the last songs is “Dance The Night”, which was included on the official soundtrack to Greta Gerwig’s film entitled “Barbie”. Responsible for its production include: Mark Ronson, who in one of the interviews stated that showing a broken disco ball in the clip for this song means Dua Lipa’s symbolic farewell to the disco era.

Apparently, the artist has now decided to go a step further, because she has decided to delete all previous posts from her Instagram account, and the covers of the singer’s singles and albums have been replaced on streaming services, which are intended to show the kaleidoscopic dimension of the star’s music.

The artist’s fans point out that Taylor Swift decided on a similar procedure in 2017, when she was preparing to release the album “Reputation”. The American star also wiped his social media clean before starting a new era in his career.

The artist’s new album will be unusual – in the atmosphere of the 70s, with references to Tame Impala and Madonna

Although we don’t know much about Dua Lipa’s third studio album yet, the singer revealed some time ago in an interview with the New York Times Magazine what we can expect. She said that it would be a completely different album from the previous ones, and would be accompanied by the atmosphere of the 70s and psychedelia.

She invited the face of the Tame Impala project, Kevin Parker, known for his psychedelic inserts and unique production, to collaborate on the album. Apparently, when creating the album, the artist was heavily inspired by one of the most popular albums of the project, “Currents” from 2015.

Another album she was inspired by was Madonna’s “Ray of Light” from the 1990s, which broke the mold in pop music at the time. Producer Danny L. Harle, who is also known for creating music in this genre, is also involved in the production of Dua’s new album.
